HOMECOMING WEEK
CROSS COUNTRY runs in the NCAA D2 South Region Championships in Lakeland, Florida, Saturday, November 19 at Hollow Park. The men will run at 6:30 a.m. central time, while the women will race at 7:30 a.m. central time. The top three teams from each race will advance to the NCAA National Championships. Union's women have competed in two NCAA National Meets, while the men are looking for their first appearance.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL will played the first regular season of the year Thursday at 5:30 p.m. versus Mississippi College. Union's two regular season games last week in Puerto Rico were canceled because its flights out of Florida were canceled due to the hurricane. So for the first time in the history of the program, the first official game of the year will be a league game. Union will then look to Delta State at 2 p.m. Saturday. Interesting note for this matchup is that Union will be facing an old coaching foe from the NAIA and TranSouth days. Tracy Stuart Lange, who spent many years at Lyon College in Arkansas is the new head coach at Delta State.
MEN'S BASKETBALL will also host Mississippi College Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Delta State Saturday at 4 p.m. Union is 1-1 on the season after spliting their games at the crossover at Tuskegee. Tuskegee rallied from 16 down in the first half to edge Union 71-67 Friday night. Union then turned the tables, rallying from 13 down in the first to Lane to win 64-58. Ty Parks is leading Union with 20.5 points per game and is adding 9.5 rebounds per game. Boe Nguidjol is averaging a double-double with 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.
