HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Union University volleyball team posted a 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16) win at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Union improved to 15-5 overall and 8-1 in the Gulf South Conference. Alabama Huntsville dropped to 8-12 on the season and 4-5 in league play.Â
Union remains in a tie for first place in the GSC standings with West Florida, both with one conference loss. Union has won 10 of its last 11 matches.Â
Union hit .352 in the match while UAH hit .208. Union led 58-50 in kills, 6-4 in aces, 8-4 in blocks, 55-46 in assists, and 65-47 in digs.Â
Freshman
Mikiah Perdue had a huge match, leading all players with 16 kills while hitting .762 in the match. She also led Union with four blocks.Â
Sydney Sample and
Jordan Vick led with two aces each. Vick led with 42 assists and 13 digs.
Sidney Hegg added 12 kills and
Emily Grace Calhoon recorded 11 digs. Sample added 12 digs and
Bailey Hughes had 10 digs.Â
Vick recorded her second straight double-double, her fifth in the past six matches, and 12th of the season.Â
Up next for Union will be the South Region Crossover in Hoover, Ala. next weekend, October 14-15. The schedule will be announced Monday, October 10.Â
