HOOVER, Ala. – The Union University volleyball team lost 3-0 to Lynn University in the first day of the South Region Crossover Classic. Lynn University came into the crossover receiving votes in the national poll. With this loss, Union falls to 15-6 overall. Lynn University improved to 13-3 on this year's campaign.
Union hit -.011 for the match while Lynn hit .222. Lynn led in kills 38-19, aces 7-2, blocks 7-3, assists 35-17, and digs 45-31.
Senior
Emily Grace Calhoon led the team in kills with eight.
Jordan Vick led in assists with 17, both
Sidney Hegg and
Lauren Burrell led the team in aces with one.
Reese Owens led the team in blocks with four, and
Davey Slaughter led the team in digs with nine.
Up next for Union is the second day of the South Region Crossover Classic. The lady Bulldogs will play Palm Beach Atlantic University as well as #4 and defending National Champions University of Tampa. The first game against Palm Beach Atlantic is set to take place Saturday, October 15 at 11:15 a.m.
