JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University volleyball team defeated the Auburn University at Montgomery 3-0 Saturday afternoon in the Fred DeLay Gymnasium. Union improved to 16-9 overall on the season and 9-2 in the Gulf South Conference. AUM fell to 12-14 overall and 6-5 in league play.
 
With this Win, Union is in a two-way tie with Mississippi College for second place in the GSC standings.
 
Union hit .295 on the match while AUM hit .152. The Lady Bulldogs led in kills 46-33 and in aces 8-1. Both teams recorded six blocks. Union led in assists 46-27 and both teams had 38 digs a piece.
 
Sidney Hegg and Reese Owens led Union with 12 kills. Sydney Sample led the team in aces with three. Hegg led in blocks with four, Jordan Vick led the team in assists with 45, and Sample led in digs with seven.
 
Up next for Union is a conference matchup at home as they take on Christian Brothers University. This match is set to take place Tuesday, October 25 at 6:00 p.m.
