Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Union University Volleyball team opened up Gulf South Conference play with a 3-1 (16-25, 25-20, 25-17, 27-25) match win over Christian Brothers University. With the win Union moves to 7-5 overall, and 1-0 in Gulf South Conference play.
After going down in the first set, Union managed to win 3 sets in a row to complete the comeback, and secure their first win in conference play. In the win over CBU, Union hit .248, led 8-5 in aces, and also 8-6 in blocks.
Meghan Delaney led Union with 13 kills,
Laura Rose Gray followed close behind with 10, and
Haley Ramsey had eight.
Kristen Goggin led the team in service aces with four.
Laura Rose Gray led the team in blocks with 5.
Jordan Vick led the team in assists with 37, and
Abbie Rahn led the team in digs with 19.
Up next for Union is a road GSC matchup against the University of Montevallo who currently sits at 1-0 in conference play as well. That matchup will be Friday, September 27 at 6 p.m.
