DURANT, Okla. - The Union University volleyball capped the final day of the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Classic with a 3-1 (23-25, 25-13, 25-16, 25-14) win over the host, Southeastern. Earlier in the day, Union fell to Southern Nazarene University 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-17). Union is now 4-3 on the season after going 2-2 in the weekend classic.
In the win over Southeastern, Union hit .220 with 50 kills. Union also led in aces (5-4), blocks (9-4), and digs (80-72).
Meghan Delaney (12),
Emily Grace Calhoon (12), and
Haley Ramsey (11) led Union in kills.
Sydney Sample led with two aces,
Alyssa Tatsch and Calhoon led with six blocks each,
Jordan Vick with 40 assists, and
Abbie Rahn with 26 digs.
In the loss to SNU, Union managed just 31 kills to 49 from SNU, hitting just .173. Union had three aces, two blocks, and 41 digs. Calhoon led with 11 kills, Delaney led with two aces, Delaney and Calhoon led with two blocks each, Vick with 27 assists, and Tatsch with 11 digs.
Up next for Union will be the first home four home matches next week when Trevecca Nazarene University comes to Fred DeLay Gymnasium Tuesday, September 17 at 7 p.m. Union will also host the Union Classic Friday and Saturday, September 20-21.
