BIRMINGHAM, Ala - The Union University women's volleyball team rallied for a 3-2 (25-22, 13-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-12) win over Nova Southeastern University in the first day of the South Region Crossover Classic. Union improved to 13-7 overall, while Nova Southeastern dropped to 10-7 on the season.Â
With this win, Union has evened the all-time series with Nova Southeastern as two wins each, with Union winning the last two meetings.Â
Union and NSU hit almost even with the Lady Bulldogs holding a slight edge .196 to .194. Nova led Union in kills 68-51 and digs 75-73. Union led NSU 12-8 in blocks, while both teams recorded three aces. NSU had 32 attack errors to 20 for Union.Â
Union was led by
Meghan Delaney and
Emily Grace Calhoon with 13 kills each, while
Alyssa Tatsch added 12 kills. Kristen Bukoswky and Calhoon led with five blocks each,
Jordan Vick with 38 assists, and
Abbie Rahn with 21 digs.
Sydney Sample, Rahn, and
Audrey Cagle each had one ace.Â
Up next for Union will be two more matches versus the Sunshine State Conference in the Crossover Classic. Union plays Embry-Riddle University at 11:15 a.m. and then Barry University at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19. Barry is receiving votes in this week's NCAA D2 National Rankings.Â
