Union women's soccer drops to No. 20 Mississippi College 1-0

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University women's soccer team dropped to No. 20 Mississippi College 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Bulldogs are now 0-9 overall and 0-7 in the Gulf South Conference. MC improved to 9-1 on the season and 7-0 in conference play. 

Mississippi College scored their first and only goal of the game in the 22nd minute. MC outshot Union in the first half 10-0. 

Union's defense held strong in the second half to keep Mississippi College out of the net. 

Hannah Hilburn recorded Union's solo shot on the day. Anna Venckus played all 90 minutes in the net and recorded four saves. 

Up next for Union is a series of away games starting with Shorter University on Friday, October 12 at 4:00 p.m.
