JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University women's soccer team lost to Auburn University at Montgomery, 5-0 Thursday evening. The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 0-13-1 overall and 0-11-1 in the Gulf South Conference. The Lady
Warhawks improved to 3-11 overall and 3-9 in conference play.
AUM scored its first goal in the 14th minute. The Warhawks scored two more goals in the first half two minutes apart in the 34th and 36th minutes.
Auburn Montgomery add two more goals in the second half, in the 63rd and 70th minutes.
Union and AUM were even on shots 11-11, while Union led 8-7 in shots on goal. Union had three corner kicks to AUM's two. The Lady Warhawks' goalie recorded 11 saves on the night.
Anna Venckus played 73 minutes in the goal and recorded two saves, while
Karleigh Belnap played the final 17 minutes in goal .
Anna Barkey led for Union with five shots,
Hannah Hewett followed with two.
Up next for Union is their final game of the season against the University of Montevallo, Saturday, October 27, at home for senior day at 2 p.m.
