JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University men's soccer team fell to Spring Hill College Friday night 3-0. Union dropped to 3-10 overall and 3-7 in the Gulf South Conference. Spring Hill improved to 9-3 overall and 5-2 in the GSC.
The Badgers' first goal was by Alexander Lipinski, assisted by Donte Oliver, in the 12th minute of the game. It was Lipinski's 12th goal on the season. Pablo Delgado scored next for Spring Hill in the 29th minute, assisted by Lipinski. Spring Hill led 2-0 at the half.
Spring Hill added another insurance goal in the 63rd minute when Delgado scored off a header. His second goal of the match and third of the season was assisted by Oliver and Lipinski.
Union out shot Spring Hill 21-17 in the match, but the Badgers edged Union 8-7 in shots on goal. Union's
Casper Nyberg recorded seven saves in goal, while his counterpart got eight saves in the shutout win.
For Spring Hill, this was their sixth straight win of the season and seventh in eight matches.
Up next for Union is a home game against the University of West Florida, October 22 at 4:15 p.m.
