JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University men's basketball team posted a 66-53 win over Spring Hill College in the GSC/SIAC Crossover Challenge hosted by the Bulldogs.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Spring Hill opened the game with a 6-1 run. However, Union responded and after 15 straight points, the Bulldogs led 21-10. Spring Hill got as close as six points, 25-19, but Union pushed the lead back to double figures.
- At the end of the first half, the Bulldogs led the Badgers 37-26. Union's bench combined for 21 of the Bulldogs' 37 points. Fuzak led Union with 10 points, and Day led with five rebounds taking the Bulldogs into the locker room.
- Union started the second half with hot shooting. After sitting out most of the first half due to foul trouble, Jared Scott started the second half with two three pointers and a jumper to extend Union's lead 47-31. Union led by as many as 21 points, 58-37, with 10:20 left in the game.
- Spring Hill did not go away. Trailing by 21, the Badgers scored 11 straight points to cut Union's lead down to 58-48 with 3:45 left to play.
- Ashanti Day hit a pair of free throws and Nick Velasquez followed with a 3-pointer for Union to stop the run and put Union back up by 15, 63-48. The Bulldogs came away with the 66-53 win.

- Union shot 46 percent from the field, 41 percent (14-34) from long range and 59 percent (10-17) from the free throw line.
- Spring Hill shot 38 percent from the field, 13 percent (1-8) form 3-point range and 74 percent (14-19) from the free throw line.
- Spring Hill out rebounded Union 37-27 and had more turnover, 18-14.
