2016-17...played in 29 games with 8 starts...averaging 8.1 points per games. 2017-18...played in 28 games with 28 starts...averaging 10.8 points per game...led the team in three-point field goals with 74.
Before Union
Velasquez transferred to Union from Bakersfield Community College where he played one season. As a sophomore at Bakersfield, he averaged 12.8 points and five rebounds per game. Out of high school, Velasquez attended Western Washington University where he spent two years, one as a redshirt player. Velasquez prepped at Punahou High School where he played basketball for three seasons and volleyball for two seasons. He helped lead his basketball team to the 2012 state title. He was named the ILH Player of the Year and was twice named all-state.
