JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University men's basketball team took down the LeMoyne-Owen College Magicians 82-60 in the final game of the GSC/SIAC Crossover Challenge Saturday.

WHAT HAPPENED
- LeMoyne-Owen took an early lead over the Bulldogs 4-0, but a layup by Felipe Rocha and three pointer by Jarad Scott pushed Union ahead 5-4. The Magicians responded with a three of their own to give them a 7-5 lead. A good layup and free throw by KC Goodwin would put Union back in the lead 7-8, and the Bulldogs would not give up the lead after that.
- Union had a 42-28 lead at the end of the first half. Scott led the Bulldogs with 10 points going to the locker room along with 10 rebounds. Justin Street led LeMoyne-Owen with seven points.
- Union opened up the second half with a 7-2 run, before LOC scored six straight to make the score 49-36.
- Both teams traded points throughout the rest of the second half with Union not seeing their lead drop below 13 points. Scott dropped a three with just 10 seconds left in the game to put Union up by 22, their largest lead of the game with the final set at 82-60.

Jarad Scott recorded the first double-double for the Bulldogs this season leading the game in both points, with 22, and rebounds, with 14.

- Union had five players in double figures for the game with Ashanti Day scoring 14, KC Goodwin adding 11 and both Tray Boyd and Felipe Rocha each contributing 10 points.
- The Bulldogs shot 50.8% from the field going 31-for-61 in the game and 33.3% from behind the arc going 10-for-30.
- Union outrebounded LOC 40 to 34.
- The Magicians shot 36.5% from the field and 18.8% from behind the arc.
