JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University men's soccer team survived with a 3-2 victory over the University of Alabama in Huntsville Friday night at Smith Soccer Complex. After leading 2-0, Union allowed two second half goals to UAH, but got the game winner in the 88th minute.

WHAT HAPPENED
· Union took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute when Daniel Bile scored with an assist from Cole Asfour. Asfour controlled a deflection from a blocked shot and gave the pass to Bile in the left side of the box where he found the back of the net.
· Union carried the 1-0 lead into the half. Both teams managed seven shots in the first 45 minutes of play.
· Union goalie Igor Luczensky had four saves in the first half, while UAH keeper Myles Fullen had three saves.
· Union extended their lead to 2-0 following goal from Paul Langford, assisted by Rodrigo Zonta and Anthony Russo in the 54thminute.
· Just 40 seconds later, Alabama Huntsville cut the Union lead back to one goal when James Narke put UAH on the board.
· Alabama Huntsville tied the match in the 81st minute when Narke put in his second goal of the match. Corentin Diverres earned the assist.
· In the 88th minute, Union's Cole Asfour took possession of the ball and drove down the left side of the field, into the box and placed a shot in the top right of the goal to give Union the 3-2 lead.
STAT OF THE GAME
· After allowing two goals to UAH and giving up the 2-0 lead, Union's Asfour got the game winner in the 88th minute. It was his second goal of the season.
POSTMATCH STATS
· Entering the match, Union had lost four straight to Alabama Huntsville, including two straight 1-0 defeats.
· Union's only prior victory over UAH in the was a 6-2 win at Union in 2012.
· The win snapped a three match losing skid for the Bulldogs.
· The first goal for Union in the 38th minute of play, snapped a 279 minute scoreless stretch for Union.
· Langford and Asfour now have two goals each on the season and join Joel Ronkko for the team lead with two goals each.
