ORLANDO, Fla. – The Union University volleyball team dropped all three matches at the South Region Crossover Challenge. The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 7-14 on the season.
MATCH ONE OF SOUTH REGION CROSSOVER CHALLENGE
Final: Lynn 3 Union 0 (14-25, 23-25, 20-25)

WHAT HAPPENED
- Union had the early lead in the first set, 4-2, but Lynn scored 7 straight points to push the Fighting Knights ahead, 9-4. Later in the first set, Lynn continued to extend their lead with a 10-1 run to take the lead, 20-7, and that proved to be enough for the Fighting Knights as they took the first set, 25-14.
- Lynn carried their momentum into the second set, taking the early lead, 4-0. Union was able to battle back to take a small lead, 9-8, over the Fighting Knights, but Lynn came back with a three point run to take back the lead, 11-9. The Fighting Knights started to gradually pull away later in the set, but the Lady Bulldogs rallied for a 6-1 run to take their fourth lead of the set, 19-17. Union was up, 23-22, late in the set, but Lynn had the comeback win, 25-23, to take the second set.
- Union had the early lead in the third set, 3-1. For most of the set, play was back-and-forth with four lead changes and 12 tie scores. The Lady Bulldogs were behind, 22-20, when Lynn had a final push to win the set, 25-20, and win the match 3-0.
STAT OF THE GAME
- Lynn went on two consecutive 5-0 runs to give them a 20-7 lead in the first set.
POSTMATCH STATS
- Union had just a .042 attacking percentage compared to Lynn's .248 attacking percentage.
- Union led Lynn 6-4 in service aces for the match.
- Katie O'Malley and Jordan Davis each posted eight kills to lead the Lady Bulldogs. O'Malley also led with two aces. Hannah Huguley helped the offense with 23 assists in the match. Union had three players tie with one block each, and Audrey Cagle led the defense with 12 digs followed by O'Malley with 11.
- Lynn was led by Lydia West with 11 kills, Katie Knight with two aces, Claire Angelich with four blocks, Marissa Tandron with 35 assists, and Knight with 15 digs.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Union was able to hang with Florida Southern early in the first set, but the Mocs pulled away with a five point run that put them ahead, 18-11. The lead would be enough for FSC as they took the first set 25-19.
- Florida Southern jumped ahead early in the second set with a 5-0 run. The Mocs dominated the rest of the set to take the set, 25-14, and a match lead of 2-0.
- FSC got the scoring going early in the first set, taking a 3-0 lead, but the Lady Bulldogs were able to battle back scoring four straight points to take the lead, 4-3. Later in the set, Florida Southern led Union, 16-12, and Union was able to battle back to get within a point of the Mocs, 16-15. With the score tied, 23-23, the Lady Bulldogs were able to score the final two points of the set with a kill and ace from O'Malley to take the third set, 25-23.
- FSC started the fourth set with a 4-0 run, and they would continue to dominate the set winning it 25-13.
STAT OF THE GAME
- At the end of the third set, Union managed three consecutive 2-0 runs to push them ahead of the Mocs 25-23.
POSTMATCH STATS
- Florida Southern had 13 blocks in the match compared to Union's 5.
- Abby Schebel led Union with nine kills followed by O'Malley with 8 kills. Huguley added 27 assists and an ace. Schebel and O'Malley also had an ace each. Davis had three blocks in the match to help the defense, and Cagle led with 16 digs.
- Florida Southern was led by Anna Tovo with 15 kills, Brindl Kangley with three aces and 16 digs, three players with five blocks each, and Bethany Besancenez with 44 assists.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Play was back-and-forth early in the first set. With Union up 6-5, Tampa went on a 4-0 run to put them ahead, 9-6. In the Spartan's next possession, they scored another three points to take a 12-7 lead. The Lady Bulldogs responded scoring three straight points of their own to bring the score to 12-10 in favor of Tampa. Later in the set, the Spartans extended their lead to 21-11 after going on an 8-0 run, and that would prove to be enough for Tampa to get the first set win, 25-15.
- The Spartans continued to dominate the match with a second set win, 25-11, and third set win, 25-10.
STAT OF THE GAME
- Tampa led 15-10 in the second set, and extended their lead with a 7-0 run to put them ahead, 22-10.
POSTMATCH STATS
- The Spartans had a team attacking percentage of .506 with 46 kills in the match.
- Suheily Colon-Rodriguez led Union with eight kills helped by Huguley's 16 assists. Huguley and Cagle each had five digs in the match. McKenna Carter led with three blocks.
- The Spartans were led by Allee Stelogeannis with 11 kills, Sammy Mueller with 22 assists, Molly McAlvany with three aces, Stelogeannis and Taylor Fosler with three blocks each, and Stelogeannis with 13 digs.
