JACKSON, Tenn.- The Union University softball took the first game of the senior weekend series on Saturday evening 3-0 over West Georgia. Union improved to 29-17 on the year and 15-15 in Gulf South Conference play.

Union got things going early with a two run bottom of the first, when Haley Cummings doubled to the left center gap driving in
Carter Mansolino and Regan Schrader who both reached on free passes. The Bulldogs added to their lead in the bottom half of the sixth with another two-bagger this time courtesy of
Caylee Crews driving in
Sarah Kreuter who entered the game to pinch run for Cummings.

Kelly Robey had another strong start in the pitchers circle for the Bulldogs tossing a complete game shutout allowing only two hits while striking 12 batters for her 26th win of the season.

Union finishes out their regular season on Sunday afternoon with a double header against the Wolves starting at 1:00 p.m. The Bulldogs clinched their spot in the GSC Tournament with a fifth place seeding and will start play on Thursday, April 30th.
