JACKSON, Tenn.- The Union University women's soccer team took down Campbellsville (Ky.) University Friday in exciting fashion 2-1 in a match that went into overtime. Union improved 2-2 on the season and Campbellsville fell to 4-4.

The first half was full of opportunities for Union to go up in the match but the Lady Bulldogs were not able to capitalize on those opportunities and went into halftime still tied at zero with Campbellsville. Both teams managed five shots in the first 45 minutes. Four of Union's shots were on-goal, and saved by Campbellsville keeper Amanda Howard. Howard finished with nine saves in the match.

Union then stepped up early in the second half with a goal off of the foot of
Kelsey Wilkes. That goal came in the 52
nd minute of play off passes from
Honeye Heydari and
Kayleigh Patterson.

Campbellsville then tied the match up at one in the 80
th minute off of deflected shot from Aris Kuntz that Devon Burnside ultimately put in. Kuntz earned the assist and the goal forced the match into overtime.

Within the first two minutes of the first overtime period, Heydari was able to put a goal on the board for Union to end the match and end the Lady Bulldogs two-game losing streak.

Heydari lead Union with six shots and five of those being shots on the goal.
Kristen Francis, the goalkeeper for Union only allowed one goal and had two saves in the match, both coming in the first half.

Union moves into conference play with their next game slated for Friday, September 26
th at 7:30 p.m. in Pensacola, Fla. where they will play University of West Florida. They will then play Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. on Sunday, September 28
th at 1:00 p.m.
