VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Union University volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-15, 22-25, 25-17, 25-21) at Valdosta State University Friday night. Union dropped to 9-21 on the season and 4-13 in the Gulf South Conference. Valdosta State improved to 19-12 overall and 10-7 in league play.
 
Valdosta State avenged an earlier 3-0 loss to Union back on October 11 at Union. Valdosta State is currently in fourth place in the GSC, while Union is tied for ninth with one match left in the regular season.
 
Union closes out the regular season on the road Saturday at West Georgia. Union topped West Georgia 3-2 back on October 12.
 
Union was led by  Abbey Wainwright with 12 kills, while Savannah Hughes added nine kills. Lydia Wright led with 39 assists, Elise Seufert led with 19 digs, and Deja Moorer led with four blocks. Four different Union players recorded one aces each.
 
Valdosta State was led by Jenna Kirkwood with 13 kills while Destiny Berry added 12 kills. Jessica Codato led with 33 assists, Nataila Campos led with 18 digs, Berry led with six blocks, while Kirkwood and Bradford added two aces each.
