Union University Athletics

Union University’s Lindsay McRee has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) women’s golf Student Athlete of the Week. This is the second week in a row for a Union player to be honored by the NCCAA (Brett Barry, men’s golf student athlete of the week last week).
 
McRee, a 5-foot-11 freshman from Murfreesboro, Tenn., placed third in the first college tournament of her career. It was also the first college tournament for the newly formed Union University women's golf team. She fired a two-round total of 162. She shot 83 on the first day, good for sixth place after the first round. She then improved her score to 79 in the final round to move her final standing to third place. McRee was named all-tournament in the event and helped Union to a fourth place finish in their inaugural event, the Freed-Hardeman Fall Invitational played at the Covington (Tenn.) Country Club.
