Union University Athletics

Kayleigh Patterson of Union University has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Women' Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week. For Patterson, this is her first such honor and first of the season for the women's soccer team.
 
Patterson, a 5-foot-6, freshman from  Olive Branch, Miss. (Southern Baptist Ed. Center) netted two goals and had a team-high ten shots in a week that the Lady Bulldogs went 2-0-1, including a 2-2 tie against NCAA DII No. 25 Valdosta State (Ga.) on the road. She scored one goal in the tie at Valdosta State and then another goal in a 2-0 win at West Georgia. Union also topped Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) 1-0 earlier in the week in a non-conference match. On the season, the forward leads the team with seven shots on goal and is tied in goals scored with two.
