Union University senior Kody Alexander was named to the NCAA DII PING All-America honorable mentioned team. He earned this award after being named a first team PING All-Region player.
Alexander, a native of Jackson, Tenn. and former Liberty High School standout posted three first place finishes on the season in nine tournaments. He posted seven top-5 finishes, three times finishing runner up. He posted a first place finish in the mostly NCAA DI Murray State Invitational, first place in the Union University Fall Invitational, and first place in the final event of the year, the most NCAA DII Natural State Classic. In his last five events of the season, Alexander has two wins and three runner-ups. In nine events, he averaged a 72.86 score.
He helped Union to one of their best seasons in recent history. The Bulldogs, not eligible for Gulf South or NCAA championships, earned five tournament titles in nine events this season. In the nine events, a fourth place finish at the UT Martin Fall Classic was the worst finish. In addition to their five titles, Union had three runner-ups and two third place finishes. Union finished runner-up at the NCCAA National Tournament.
