CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Union University women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw against Delta State University in Gulf South Conference action Wednesday.
The Lady Bulldogs pressured the Delta State defense throughout the match, finishing with 23 shots, including 15 on goal. Union recorded 15 shots and nine of its 10 corner kicks during the second half.
Paige Blackburn led Union with five shots, including three on goal. Brinley Linnenbringer and Bethany Guinness each added four shots and three shots on goal, while Irene Arias recorded four shots.
Union also delivered a strong defensive performance. Goalkeeper Antia López Rodríguez played all 90 minutes and made four saves to secure the shutout.
The Lady Bulldogs held Delta State to 11 shots and four shots on goal.
Union is now 0-3-2 overall and 0-0-2 in GSC play.
The Lady Bulldogs will continue GSC play at home Saturday, Sept. 19, against Spring Hill College at 5 p.m. at Smith Memorial Soccer Complex.
