Union Celebrates Senior Night with Statement Win

JACKSON, Tenn.- On a night dedicated to honoring its seniors, Union delivered a performance to remember, overpowering Lane 20-3 at Fesmire Field.

Prior to the first pitch, the ceremony highlighted each of the 15 graduating seniors. Lane Evans, Eli Gipson, Canyon Pace, Caleb Davis, Dyllon Barrett, Noah Toney, Joseph Hufstedler, Matthew Sureda, Grant Ross, Eli Jackson, Garrett Telaga, Kylon Joyner, Jake Keyl, Nick Stamper, and Brodey Lentz were all featured in the celebration.

The Bulldogs wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for six runs in the opening inning, highlighted by a grand slam off the bat of Joseph Hufstedler. The early surge ignited both the dugout and the Senior Night crowd, putting Union firmly in control from the start.

Union continued to pile on in the third inning with another offensive explosion. Among the biggest moments of the night was Nick Stamper's inside-the-park home run, a three-run dash that showcased both speed and awareness as the Bulldogs stretched their lead even further.

At the plate, Union's lineup produced up and down the order, but Noah Toney stood out with a strong all-around outing. Toney finished 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, consistently applying pressure and contributing to multiple scoring innings.

On the mound, Union's pitching staff set the tone early. Eli Jackson earned the win with three shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six to keep Lane off balance. The bullpen followed with solid work to secure the run-rule victory.

Union's offense totaled 20 runs on 12 hits, capitalizing on patience at the plate and timely hitting, while the defense played clean baseball behind the pitching staff.

Fittingly, on a night celebrating its seniors, Union delivered one of its most complete performances of the season—power at the plate, dominance on the mound, and a statement win in front of the home crowd.

The Bulldogs play their final series at home this weekend, facing off against the Falcons of Montevallo. Friday will feature the double header, followed by the single game on Saturday.
