JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University women's soccer team lost 3-0 at home to Mississippi College. Union dropped to 2-1-3 overall and 1-1-1 in Gulf South Conference play. Mississippi College improved to 3-4-1 on the season and 2-1-1 in league play.
Union honored three seniors prior to the match including
Alyssa Goodloe,
Brooke Ricca, and
Eva Isom.
Mississippi College score the first and deciding goal just over five minutes into the match when Parker St. Amant took a loose ball and found the back of the net. MC added a second goal in the first half in the 29th minute when Paula Catalan assisted Abby Badurak. That score stood until the 89th minute of play when a misplayed ball by the Union defense led to a open net goal from Jaylen Body to set the final at 3-0.
Union outshot MC in the match 16-13, but it was the Choctaws hold the 9-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Lucia Revuelto led Union with four shots, while
Lucia Garcia added three. Revuelto led with two shots on goal. Senior goalie
Eva Isom played 14 minutes in goal, allowing one goal with one save.
Antia Lopez Rodriguez played 76 minutes in goal, allowing two scores with five saves.
Up next for the Lady Bulldogs will be a GSC road match at Montevallo, Saturday, October 4 at 4 p.m.
