ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T claimed the win against Union men's soccer on Friday afternoon, scoring three goals in the first half and one in the second to defeat the Bulldogs 4-1.
The Bulldogs, coming off back-to-back ties, now hold a 0-1-2 (0-0-0) record. Missouri S&T improves to 2-0-1 (0-0-0).
Within the first 20 minutes of play, Missouri S&T's Luke Giesing, Mike Banasik, and Joseph Sommer, dominated the first half offensively by each scoring a goal to put the Miners up 3-0. Missouri S&T outshot Union 13-1 in the opening half.
Union's lone goal came in the 54
TH minute, when
Christian Harjanne, assisted by Pela Solomon, put the Bulldogs on the board.
The two teams were even in fouls with four apiece, while Union recorded three saves compared to Missouri S&T's four.
The Miners sealed the match in the second half as player Alonzo Edmond scored the final goal to end the game, handing Union a 4-1 loss.
The Bulldogs will play two more road games before again appearing at Smith Memorial Soccer Complex. Next up is Kentucky Wesleyan College Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
