LIVINGSTON, Ala. - On Mar. 28-29, the Union University softball team went on the road to face the University of West Alabama. The Tigers won all three games by scores of 10-1, 3-0, and 11-2, respectively. Games one and three ended in run-rule fashion. After the weekend, Union drops to 7-28 overall (5-17 GSC), and West Alabama improves to 24-12 overall (13-8 GSC).
Courtney Marler had a hit for the Lady Bulldogs in each game, going 3-7 with a double, one run scored, and a sacrifice bunt.
Mallory Hildebrand and
Sarah Kate Thompson each had a multi-hit game in the series with Hildebrand going 2-3 in game two and Thompson going 2-3 in game three.
Emily Claire Felder held the Tigers to three runs in game two, pitching all six innings and striking out five batters. She also pitched 2.1 innings in relief in game three, allowing two runs on two walks and one hit and striking out one batter.
Up next, the Lady Bulldogs return home to face Ouachita Baptist University in a midweek doubleheader. First pitch of game one is scheduled for Apr. 1 at 1:00 p.m.
