PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Union University women's basketball team posted an 80-66 win over Bentley University in the 2025 NCAA D2 WBB Elite Eight Quarterfinals. Union, seeded seventh, earned a spot in the national semifinals on Wednesday, March 26, versus 3-seed Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The win for Union (33-3) extended its win streak to 19 games, while it also ended 2-seed Bentley's (33-2) 29-game winning streak.

Union women's basketball is in the national semifinals for the first time since 2018. It also matches the furthest Union has been in the national tournament since joining the Division II ranks in 2014-15. Union lost in the 2018 semifinals as the 7-seed to the eventual national champions.

Monday's game was as close over the first 25 minutes or so. The game featured seven ties and 12 lead changes through the first 25 minutes of play.

Union jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the game. However, Bentley tied the game at 7-7 just moments later. Bentley took its first lead at 12-9 with 3:54 left in the quarter. The first quarter ended even at 18-18.

In the second quarter, Union again led by seven points, 33-26 with 3:28 left. However, Bentley stormed back and tied the game 35-35 going into halftime.

In the third quarter, the teams went back and forth until just under five minutes left in the period. Bentley led by three points, 47-44, when Union went on a 7-0 run to take a lead it never lost. A 3-pointer from Alexis Callins put Union up by four. Union's final 12 points of the third quarter all came from the 3-ball, including Callins, Macey Lee, and two from Bethany Dillard. Union led 60-55 at the end of three periods.

Dillard continued the streak of five straight threes from the Union offense, including her third straight with the first Union basket of the fourth quarter. Union maintained the lead and then with 4:24 left in the game, Callins hit a 3-pointer to give Union the first double-digit lead for either team, 74-64. Union got two late free throws from Jazalyn Anousinh to put the final at 80-66.

Over the final 14 minutes of the game, Union outscored Bentley 36-19. Union also dished out 17 assists, while committing only seven turnovers. One of those was a shot clock violation in the final seconds.
