LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama Tigers clipped Union University men's basketball on Thursday night, 71-68, despite a
Jeremiah Littlepage 24-point, 14-rebound double-double and 23 points from
CJ Jackson.
Neither team led by more than five in an affair containing 15 lead changes and 11 ties, and West Alabama led for the final 6:33.
Devaki Garr finished the night 4-7 from three and made a triple with 11 seconds remaining to bring the game within two points, but Union didn't score again.
The Bulldogs fall to 12-11 (8-9 GSC) and sixth in the conference standings.
Thaddeus Williams led the Tigers with 23 points, while freshman Elliot Tulip scored a career-high 18.
The Bulldogs finished just 10-15 (.667) from the floor, their second-lowest percentage in conference play this season. UWA was 19 for 22 (.864).
Union moves to 0-7 this season when failing to score 70 points and 2-10 when shooting .435 or lower from the floor.
Union will look to hand #4 UAH (23-1) its first conference loss of the season on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Spragins Hall.
