Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Bulldogs fight for a GSC playoff spot against Trevecca, match ends in a draw

JACKSON, Tenn.- Union University women's soccer capped off the weekend with a match against Trevecca Nazarene.

The first half was calm on both ends of the field. Neither team had crucial scoring opportunities and went into the second half at 0-0.

The second half opened with a heavy Lady Bulldog attack. Rebekah Jackson and Lucia Revuelto both had opportunities at net to no prevail.  Tessa Erzen would be the one to find the back of the net. The outside back was in the right place at the right time on a corner kick from Revuelto in the 68th minute. Her header from the back post was just enough to put Union ahead.

The Lady Trojans fought back with a goal of their own. In the 72nd minute, Kate Riley responded with the equalizer.

This heated back and forth battle persisted throughout the rest of the match.

Both goalkeepers were kept busy during the 90 minutes. Antia Lopez Rodriguez collected 6 saves while TNU goalkeeper Bailie Fiore had an impressive performance collecting 9 saves.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Union will play their final game of the regular season this Wednesday (11/5) against Valdosta State back at the Smith Memorial Soccer Complex.
