JACKSON, Tenn.- Union University women's soccer concluded their season this morning in a rescheduled match up against the Lady Blazers of Valdosta State.
Union opened scoring quickly in the 6
th minute with a well-placed shot from
Rebekah Jackson.
Lucia Revuelto played a through ball into the box for Jackson to receive and tap into the net. This opening goal was followed by multiple promising attempts by Jackson and
Paige Blackburn.
Valdosta responded in the 37
th minute with a goal from Jada Narcisse. Narcisse would then turn around an play an assist to Ameliah Dixon for a 40
th minute goal. VSU went into the second half up 2-1.
The second half opened to the final goal of the day, once again in favor of the Lady Blazers. Taylor Youmans scored the third goal in the 47
th minute.
Union scrambled the rest of the match, making multiple attempts at goal to no prevail.
As the clock ran down to 00:00, the Lady Bulldogs were unable to put more points on the board leaving the score at 3-1 in favor of Valdosta State.
Looking at the box score, momentum clearly shifted between halves. Union out shot VSU 11-4 in the first half, then Valdosta out shot the Lady Bulldogs 9-5 in the second half. Full time shots on goal fell in favor of Union 9-8.
Antia Lopez Rodriguez played all 90 minutes in goal collecting 5 saves.
Today's match concluded the 2025 season. The Lady Bulldogs record for the 2025 season ended at 4-7-4 (3-7-2 GSC).
