No. 3/4 Lady Bulldogs ride 57 point second half to victory over Christian Brothers

JACKSON, Tenn. - On Feb. 1, the No. 3/4 Union University women's basketball team defeated Christian Brothers University in a road matchup 92-64. This was the Lady Bulldogs' 11th straight win and second win of the season over the Bucs after beating them at home 107-35 on Dec. 8. With their victory, Union's record improves to 21-1 overall (15-1 GSC), and Christian Brothers' record falls to 2-18 overall (2-14 GSC).

Shanique Lucas led the Lady Bulldogs with 17 points in the game, and Macey Lee and Olivia Lee combined for 26 points with 13 each. Union led 22-14 at the end of the first quarter, but Christian Brothers rallied in the second to make the game 35-35 going into halftime. The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Bucs 57-29 in the second half to come away with the win.

Jazalyn Anousinh and Brooke Hampel joined Lucas and the Lee sisters in double digit points with 11 and 10, respectively. Anousinh also led in assists with four, and Olivia Lee led in rebounds with eight. Macey Lee and Shylee Morrison each had seven rebounds of their own. 

Union shot 39.7 percent (31-78) from the field, 25 percent (9-36) from three-point range, and 70 percent (21-30) from the free throw line.

Destiny Kiner led Christian Brothers with 21 points and three assists. The Bucs shot 40 percent (20-50) from the field, 26.7 percent (4-15) from three-point range, and 66.7 percent (20-30) from the free throw line.
