The No. 3/4 Lady Bulldogs hold on to defeat West Florida 81-78

JACKSON, Tenn. – The No. 3/4 Lady Bulldogs defeat the University of West Florida by a score of 81-78. Union's record improves to 22-1 (16-1 GSC) while West Florida's record falls to 12-9 overall (9-7 GSC).
 
Union came into the game winners of 11 straight games. West Florida entered today's game on a two-game losing streak.
 
The Lady Bulldogs played today's game without Jazalyn Anousinh, Shylee Morrison, Lauren West, and Bethany Dillard due to injuries.
 
Union outscored West Florida 48-44 in the first half of action. The Lady Bulldog's shot 41.2% (7-17) from three-point range. Coach Campbell's squad out-rebounded West Florida in the first half 16-14. Olivia Lee led all scorers with 11 points off of 4-4 shooting (3-3 3PT). Shanique Lucas also collected double-digit points with 10 off of 4-7 shooting 92-5 3PT). Lucas also collected five assists in the first half.
 
Union held on in the second half despite the West Florida offensive push. West Florida outscored Union 34-33. West Florida led Union in shooting percentage and three-point percentage. The Lady Bulldogs out-rebounded West Florida 34-33.
 
Olivia Lee led all Union scorers with 17 points off of 6-10 shooting (3-6 3PT). Lee also led the Lady Bulldogs in rebounds with seven. Courtney Zensen caught fire in the second half, finishing with 16 points off of 5-10 3PT shooting. Five different Lady Bulldogs collected double-digits in scoring.
 
The No. 3/4 Lady Bulldogs next game is on February 10th. Union will battle it out with Valdosta State University starting at 1:00 p.m.
