JACKSON, Tenn.—On Sep. 6
th, the Union men's soccer team beat Trevecca Nazarene University 2-1.
Union scored first when
Kenny Nitzsche kicked a goal in the 30
th minute. The Bulldogs got their second goal in the 53
rd minute as
Chris Grill scored, assisted by
Hunter Santoscoy. The Trojans cut the Bulldogs' lead in half in the 60
th minute but did not score again.
Trevecca outshot Union 25-9 overall and 12-5 in shots on goal. The Trojans also led in corner kicks 17-4 and fouls 10-8. However, the Bulldogs had more saves with 11 compared to 3 by the Trojans.
Ashanie Kennedy,
Stan De Vries, and Grill each had two shots in the contest, and five of the six Bulldogs with shots in the match had one shot on goal. Botand Nemeth played all 90 minutes in goal with 10 saves.
Next, Union travels to Rolla, Mo., on Sep. 10
th to face Missouri S&T at 2:30 p.m.
