ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Union University softball team picked up two wins on the road Tuesday night against Ouachita Baptist University. They won the first game 3-0, and the second game 7-1. Union improved to 13-8 overall on the season, OBU 8-13 on this year's campaign.
In the first game, Union scored all three of their runs in the third inning as
Macey Neal scored on a sacrifice bunt from
Brooke Puckett. Union scored their last two runs when
Fallon Groves singled through the left side scoring Puckett and
Idalia Alarcon.
Alarcon led Union going 3-3 with three singles.
Addison Abell started in the circle for Union throwing all seven innings allowing only four hits and earning four strikeouts.
In the second game, Union scored the bulk of their runs in the second inning when they plated four runs on three hits. They picked up three more runs in the fourth inning stringing five hits together.
Grace White, and Neal led the team with two hits each
Courtney Marler led the team with two RBI.
Riley Vaughn started in the circle for Union throwing four innings allowing one run on no hits and earning six strikeouts.
Kira Finkley threw in relief.
Up next for Union is a three-game series at home against the Warhawks of Auburn Montgomery. The first game of the series is set to take place Saturday, March 11 at 1 p.m.
