CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Union University softball team fell short of the sweep Sunday afternoon and dropped the last game of the series to West Georgia 0-3. Union moved to 11-8 overall on the year and 6-2 in the Gulf South Conference. West Georgia improved to 3-15 on the year and 2-7 in the GSC.
West Georgia scored in the first and fifth inning scoring three runs on three hits.
Grace White led Union going 2-3 with a double.
Kira Finkley started on the mound for Union throwing six innings giving up three runs on five hits earning four strikeouts.
Up next for Union is a non-conference double header on the road as they take on Ouachita Baptist. The first game of the double header is set to take place Tuesday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m.
