ROME, Ga. – The Union University softball team dropped the third and final game of the series at Shorter University Sunday afternoon. Union lost 4-5 in seven innings, the Lady Bulldogs dropped to 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the Gulf South Conference. Shorter improved to 4-8 on the season and 1-2 in league play.
This loss for Union broke their seven-game winning streak.

Fallon Groves was the standout in today's game, In the second inning she hit a sacrifice fly to right field which scored
Idalia Alarcon for the first run of the game. In the same inning Grace white drove in
Mackenzi David with a single to right. Groves came up again in the third inning and drove in two more runs on a single to center. After two and a half innings Union was up 4-0.
In the third, fifth, and sixth innings Shorter rallied to score five runs and win the game.
David and Alarcon led Union going 2-4, Groves led the team in RBI with three.
Addison Abell started the game in the circle for Union throwing four innings giving up four runs on 11 hits.
Kira Finkley threw two innings in relief giving up one run on one hit.
Up next for Union is their conference series home opener. The Lady Bulldogs will face off against the Argo's of the University of West Florida. The first game of the series will take place Saturday, February 25 at 1:00 p.m.
