ROME, Ga. - The Union University baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader Saturday at Shorter University. Union won the series opener Friday, 5-4. However, Saturday doubleheader was all Shorter, winning the first game 11-1 and game two 5-0. Union dropped to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in the Gulf South Conference. Shorter improved to 6-5 and 2-1 in league play.Â
Union managed just one hit in the opening game, a solo home run from
Mitch Sisk. Four pitchers pitched for Union with
Lane Evans (1-2) starting and taking the loss.Â
Game two provided more offensive struggles for Union, getting just two hits and no runs.
Blake Barrett and
Alec Hardy had one hit each. Sisk (0-3) started and took the loss, giving up just one run on three hits in 2.1 innings. Four other pitchers tossed in relief for Union.Â
Up next for Union will be a non-conference road game Tuesday at Arkansas Monticello at 2 p.m.
