JACKSON, Tenn. - Union University Women's Soccer wins home contest versus Auburn University in Montgomery by a score of 1-0. Union's record improves to 7-7-1 overall (6-5 GSC) and Auburn Montgomery moves to 4-11-1 overall (3-7-1 GSC).
Following today's matchup, Union climbs to #7 in the
GSC rankings. To qualify for the Conference tournament, the Lady Bulldogs would have to finish within the top 8. Union is just one point behind reaching the top four in the rankings.
Union tallied 21 total shots (7 SOG) but seemingly could not capitalize on multiple scoring opportunities. The only score of the match found the net in the 47' off of the right foot of
Bethany Guinness (assisted by
Rebekah Jackson).
Rylee Iorio collected one save on one Auburn Montgomery shot on goal for her 295th total save as a Lady Bulldog. She is now tied for #1 all-time in Union Women's Soccer saves.
Iorio and the Lady Bulldogs will look to continue their impressive season and clinch a spot in the GSC tournament on October 27th versus Shorter University.
