JACKSON, Tenn.—On Oct. 13
th, the Union University men's soccer team was shutout by Spring Hill College 2-0. Union's record drops to 3-6-2 overall (1-5-1 GSC) while Spring Hill improves to 4-8-2 overall (3-4-1 GSC).
The first goal of the game came in the 8
th minute when Spring Hill's Quinn Carper won a penalty and scored it. Adrián Rodríguez scored Spring Hill's second goal in the 88
th minute. Carper got the assist.
Although the Bulldogs did not score, they led in shots 10-7. They also had more corner kicks with nine. Spring Hill led in shots on goal 5-3 and fouls 14-9. Each team had three saves.
Ostian Bowen had the most shots for Union with three, one of which was on goal.
Botond Nemeth played all 90 minutes in goal with three saves.
Next up for Union is a road match against the University of West Florida on Oct. 15
th at 3:00 p.m.
