Union men's basketball wins on the road against Mississippi College

CLINTON, Miss. – The Union University men's basketball defeated Mississippi College on the road Saturday afternoon 81-68. The Bulldogs improve to 11-7 overall on the season and 10-4 in the Gulf South Conference. Mississippi Colo. Falls to 10-8 overall on this year's campaign, and 6-8 in league play.
 
In the first half, Mississippi Colo. came out and scored first and soon went on to go on a 10-3 run. Halfway through the first half, Union tied the game up at 20 from a layup by Boe Nguidjol. The Bulldogs pulled away heading into the locker room with an eight point lead. Union outshot Mississippi Colo. in the first half 64 percent to 48 percent from the field, and 67 percent to 40 percent from beyond the arc.
 
In the second half, The Bulldogs held on to their lead winning by a 13 point deficit 81-68. Union outshot Mississippi Colo 63 percent to 42 percent from the field, and 50 percent to 33 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Nguidjol led Union with 23 points and eight rebounds. He shot 67 percent from the field and was 1-1 from beyond the arc. Tradavis Thompson led Mississippi Colo. with 22 points and five rebounds. He shot 45 percent from the field and 33 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Up next for Union is a GSC matchup on the road against the University of West Georgia. This game is set to take place Wednesday, January 18 at 4:30 p.m.
