Union men's basketball falls short on the road to West Georgia

Carrollton, Ga. – The Union men's basketball fell to the University of West Georgia on the road Wednesday night 67-55. Union is now 11-8 overall on the season, and 10-5 in the Gulf South Conference. West Georgia Improved to 12-4 overall on this year's campaign, and 11-3 in the GSC.
 
With two lead changes in the first half, both teams seemed to be trading points. Union shot 41 percent from the field in the first half to UWG's 37 percent. The difference in the first half was UWG's ability to crash the offensive glass. They had eight offensive rebounds helping them to 14 second chance points. Union would end the half down two 33-31.
 
In the second half, Union was outshot 44 percent to 31 percent from the field and 50 percent to 30 percent from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs found a way to tie the game up midway through the second half but couldn't keep the momentum going ultimately losing the game 55-67.
 
Boe Nguidjol, Tylandrius Parks, and Jerimiah Littlepage were all in double digits, all finishing the game with 13 points. Nguidjol led the team in rebounds with eight. Zawdie Jackson led the charge for the Wolves scoring 22 points and grabbing three rebounds. He shot 57 percent from the field and 80 percent (3-5) from beyond the arc.
 
Up next for Union is a conference matchup at home against Christian Brothers University. This game is set to take place Thursday, January 26 at 7:30 p.m.
