JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University women's soccer team lost its season opener at home to the University of Missouri-St. Louis, 3-0. It was the season opener for both teams. 

The match was scoreless for the first 31-plus minutes of play. Then in the 32nd minute, Missouri-St. Louis scored with Jalyn Richardson's game winner. The score was 1-0 at the half. UMSL added two goals later in the second half to put the match away. Cammie Robinson and Maya Ware scored in the 63rd and 76th minutes, respectively. Mia Milazzo added the assist on the second goal of the night for UMSL. 

The Tritons outshot Union 19-6 in the match, including 10-1 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were 2-1 in favor of UMSL, while Union led in fouls, 11-9. 

All six of Union shots came from six different players. Ava Duval had Union's lone shot on goal. Rylee Iorio played all 90 minutes in net, recorded seven saves. 

Up next for Union will be a home, non-conference match versus Ouachita Baptist, Thursday, September 1 at 5 p.m.
