The women's soccer team in under new leadership as Josh Alford takes over in his first head coaching job. Alford comes to Union after spending time as an assistant coach at NCAA DI Northern Iowa. Anna Hardin, Union assistant coach, led Union last season in an interim roll to four victories, Union's highest win total since 2017. 

Union has six returning seniors and six returning juniors to help this young group take the next step. Twelve underclassmen including five freshman will be called on to contribute early in their careers. 

Steven Cox is in his sixth season with the Bulldogs. Last season started strong coming off the 2021 GSC Spring Conference Title. Union started the fall of 2021 hot, jumping to No. 8 in the national rankings, its highest spot in program history. However, key injuries slowed the team late in the year. 

Union graduated 90% of its goal scoring from last season. The Bulldogs have three seniors and eight juniors back to solidify the squad this season. However, the young players will no doubt be called on to contribute in order to fill the large scoring gap lost from last season. 

August 26-27 Union Volleyball Classic, opens in new tab - Ten matches in two days will be played inside Fred DeLay Gymnasium as Union is hosting the first of two classics. Union welcomes in Texas Women's University, Mississippi College, Belmont Abbey College, and University of Arkansas Monticello for the two days. Union will play twice each day, including 3:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday. Followed by 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Games start at 11 a.m. both days. 

The Union volleyball team in under new leadership for the first time in seven seasons. Stephen Vick will lead the volleyball program this season as the interim head coach. Vick is no stranger to Union as his daughter, Jordan Vick, is a senior setter on the team. His son Garrett is a sophomore on the men's basketball team, while his oldest son, Hunter played men's basketball at Union. In fact, Coach Vick also played a season of basketball for the Union Bulldogs. 

Union is returning two GSC All-Conference players in Jordan Vick and Emily Grace Calhoon. Union is coming off a third place regular season finish, its highest GSC finish in program history. Union advanced to the GSC Tournament last season for the third straight season.
