HOMECOMING WEEK
CROSS COUNTRY runs in the GSC Championships Saturday in Montevallo, Ala. The men will run at 8:30 a.m. while the women will run at 9:30 a.m. with the awards ceremony to follow at about 11:15 a.m. You can pay to watch the race on FloSports or keep up with the live results.
The men finished ninth last season. Union's best men's finished was sixth place in 2014, 2018, 2019.
The women finished in fourth place last season. Union's women claimed the GSC Title in 2014 and 2016.
VOLLEYBALL hits the road for the final two regular season matches of 2022. Union will play at Shorter Thursday night at 5 p.m. and at Lee Friday night at 6 p.m. Both times are central time.
Union is currently in sole possession of second place in the GSC with a 12-2 record. West Florida is first at 14-1 and has clinched the No. 1 seed. Union could still finish in a tie for first with a West Florida loss and two Union wins. Union is one game ahead of Mississippi College in third place (11-3). Union holds the tiebreaker over MC so just one more win for Union clinches the No. 2 seed. Union can finished no lower than a No. 3 seed. However, finishing in the top-2 guarantees a double-buy all the way to the GSC Semifinals.
The top eight teams advance to the GSC tournament. The 1 and 2 seeds get a double bye while the 3 and 4 seeds get a first round bye. The 5-seed will host the 8-seed and the 6-seed will host the 7-seed in the first round. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals will all be played at the No. 1 home court.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL will host Bulldog Madness at 7 p.m. Tuesday night in The Fred. Then Union plays Illinois Wesleyn Saturday at 2 p.m. in a homecoming exhibition game.
