JACKSON, Tenn. – The Union University women's soccer team fell to Christian Brothers University 4-1 Sunday afternoon at the Smith Memorial Soccer Complex. Union's season comes to an end with this loss. The Lady Bulldogs finished 4-11-1 overall on the season and 3-9-1 in the Gulf South Conference. CBU improved to 9-5-3 overall and 6-4-3 in the GSC.
Union will not advance to the GSC Tournament, needing to finish in the top eight. Christian Brothers will enter the tournament as the seventh seed.
In this afternoon's match all of CBU's goals were scored in the first half of play. In the second half,
Shaylynn Bentley scored the lone goal for Union. That goal was assisted by
Hannah Patterson and
Grace Rodriguez
Union was outshot 25-13 and 13-7 in shots on goal. Corner's ere in CBU's favor 9-7 and the Bucks also led in fouls 10-9
Ines Gama and Lily Ludwig led the team in shots with three apiece.
Rachel Shane and
Kaytlynn Staley were the only other Lady Bulldogs with a multiple shot performance.
