Union women's soccer falls to Delta State 2-0 on the road

CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Union University women's soccer team lost 2-0 in a conference matchup on the road against Delta State Friday night. With the loss, Union falls to 4-9-1 overall on the season and 3-7-1 in the Gulf South Conference. DSU improves to 9-5-1 overall and 6-3-1 in league play.
 
Ines Gama led the team with two shots including one on target. Shaylynn Bentley added one. Union was outshot 16-3 and 7-1 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were in the Lady Statesmen's favor 11-0 and DSU led in fouls 15-11. Rylee Iorio logged 90:00 minutes in goal and recorded five saves.
 
Up next for Union is another conference match on the road as they take on Mississippi College. This match is set to take place Sunday, October 16 at 1:00 p.m.
