NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Union University volleyball program suffered its first losses of the season in the final day of the Ray Thrasher Memorial Tournament host by Trevecca Nazarene University. Union's first loss of the season came in heartbreaking fashion, 3-2 (24-26, 25-22, 25-16, 22-25, 17-15). Union lost the final match of the tournament to host Trevecca Nazarene 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-14). Union moved to 6-2 on the season.
In the first match for Union, the Lady Bulldogs won the first and fourth sets, but fell in the deciding fifth set in extra points.
Emily Grace Calhoon led Union with 20 kills.
Haley Ramsey,
Jordan Vick, and
Reese Owens all recorded two aces each.
Alyssa Tatsch and Calhoon led with six blocks. Vick led with 43 assists and
Sydney Sample led with 18 digs.
In the final match, Union fell in straight sets. Calhoon led with nine kills, Vick and
Bailey Hughes led with one ace each, and Calhoon and Vick led with two blocks. Vick led with 27 assists and Ramsey with 12 digs.
Up next for Union will be the Union University Classic, Friday and Saturday, September 17-18.
