JACKSON, Tenn. - The Union University baseball team split a doubleheader today with in-state opponent Christian Brothers University. In game one the Bulldogs came out on top 7-5, and in game two the Buccaneers won 4-3. With the split, the Bulldogs move to 12-20 overall and 10-19 in the GSC. The Buccaneers move to 5-26 overall, and 3-25 in the GSC.

In game one, the Buc's scratched one across in the top of the first, but not before the Bulldogs would answer with four runs of their own. It all started thanks to a
Ryan Lee two run homerun,
Trey Frierson fielder's choice RBI, and a
Patrick Music RBI single. In the sixth the Bulldogs scored three more, two from a fielding error, and one from a
Josh Bozoian sacrifice fly. Pushing the score to 7-1 in favor of the Bulldogs. The Buc's fought back and scored four more, but it wasn't enough, giving the Bulldogs the win 7-5. The Bulldogs were led by
Ryan Lee with two RBI's from a home run. Lee went 1-3 scoring one run of his own.
Jake Baker went 2-3 scoring one run.
Walker Adkisson got the win on the bump. He pitched six innings giving up six hits, zero earned runs, and 11 strikeouts.
Ryan Middleton got the save, pitching 2.1 innings giving up no earned runs, with one strikeout.

In game two, it was a pitching duel at its finest. The Buc's were able to make a late push and take home the win. The Bulldogs were led by
Luke Williamson on the mound. Pitching seven innings, giving up only two earned runs, with 12 strikeouts.
Josh Bozoian had two RBI's.
Austin Zeitler had one RBI going 1-4.
