CLEVELAND, Tenn. - The Union University volleyball team posted a pair of victories Saturday at Lee University in a tri-match. Union defeated Shorter University 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-14) in the first match, then topped host Lee 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-15).
Union recorded 44 kills in the win over Shorter and hit .235. Union added five aces, 10 blocks, 37 assists, and 62 digs. The Lady Bulldogs were led by
Meghan Delaney with 11 kills,
Laura Rose Gray with eight, and
Haley Ramsey with seven.
Jordan Vick led with three aces, 16 digs, and 28 assists.
Emily Grace Calhoon led with seven blocks.
In the win over Lee, Union edged Lee 36-35 in kills and were even in blocks at four each. Both teams had 32 digs. However, Union dominated the serving, getting nine aces to just one for Lee. Union was led by Delaney with 12 kills, Ramsey added eight, and
Alyssa Tatsch had five. Calhoon led with three aces, Gray with two blocks, Vick with 22 aces, and
Sydney Sample with 10 digs.
Up next for Union is a road game at Alabama Huntsville, March 10 at 7 p.m.
