MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Union University women's soccer team lost 1-0 in double overtime in the season finale at Christian Brothers University Friday night. Union dropped to 0-5 in the Gulf South Conference Spring Championship Series, while Christian Brothers improved to 2-2-1.
Union will begin play next week in the SCS Tournament as the #6 seed in group A and will play at Group B #3 seed.
CBU outshot Union 8-1 in the first half, 10-1 in the second half, and 4-0 in the first overtime, but neither team scored over the first 100 minutes. Union's
Rylee Iorio recorded 13 saves in the game including a clutch save in the final minutes of regulation.
With time running out in the second overtime, CBU got its golden goal in the 109th minute of play from Taylor White, assisted by Anna Della Rosa and Hanna Ward.
CBU ended up outshooting Union 24-2 and 14-2 in shots on goal.
